Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

The School Secretary will perform a wide variety of secretarial, clerical, and administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal, academic staff, students, and parents. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and maintaining comprehensive physical and electronic filing systems for students and staff.
  • Creating, updating, and entering information into school databases.
  • Locating, organizing, and attaching appropriate files to incoming correspondence that requires response.
  • Providing timely and accurate data to school leadership as requested.
  • Notifying parents regarding student absences in a prompt manner.
  • Processing and tracking staff leave requests accurately.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments for staff members with the Principal, and managing institutional calendars.
  • Writing clear, concise, and professional minutes of meetings.
  • Serving as a positive role model and mentor to students in all interactions.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in English, Secretarial Studies, or a related field. Any higher degree or professional qualification, especially in Secretarial Studies, will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant administrative or secretarial experience, preferably within an educational setting.
