Position Overview
The SAP IS-Oil Consultant will be responsible for supporting Dangote’s downstream, refining, and petrochemical enterprise operations. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of solid SAP implementation experience within the Oil & Gas sector, having successfully navigated at least one full-cycle SAP implementation. You will leverage your strong technical capability and functional understanding of core oil accounting principles to streamline business processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implementation and Configuration
- Support all critical phases of the SAP IS-Oil implementation life cycle, including blueprinting, realization, rigorous testing, go-live preparation, and post-go-live hypercare support.
- Configure complex SAP IS-Oil modules tailored for downstream processes, focusing on areas like inventory management, stock transfers, and basic scheduling.
- Translate evolving business requirements into robust functional specifications and configuration designs.
- Perform thorough gap analyses to identify any operational deviations from SAP best practices in the oil and gas domain.
2. Functional Support
- Oil Accounting: Configure inventory valuation, basic revenue recognition, and settlement postings within the SAP IS-Oil framework.
- Support the seamless integration of Petroleum Production Processes with core SAP modules such as Financial Accounting & Controlling (FI/CO), Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), and essential IS-Oil sub-modules (HPM, TSW basics).
- Utilize fundamental product costing techniques for refining operations to deliver accurate profitability reporting.
- Act as a functional support expert to business users, troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day configuration challenges.
3. Integration Assistance
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate SAP IS-Oil with external refinery systems, including tank gauging and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Assist in complex data mapping exercises and interface configurations for production and inventory management systems.
- Participate actively in testing vital integration points with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and core SAP modules.
4. Team Collaboration & Documentation
- Work productively alongside senior consultants and key business stakeholders to deliver top-tier, scalable enterprise solutions.
- Maintain pristine documentation including system configurations, integration test results, and customized user guides.
- Participate in organizing and conducting user training sessions to ensure a smooth transition and knowledge transfer.
- Support critical business cutover activities and resolve post-implementation technical issues.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- Certification: Professional SAP certification in IS-Oil or related modules is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on SAP experience, with a heavy emphasis on SAP IS-Oil Downstream processes.
- Implementation Track Record: Involvement in at least 1 full-cycle SAP IS-Oil implementation in the oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical sector.
- Demonstrated experience supporting live business operations or navigating intense hypercare phases successfully.
