Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the hospital has a steady, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and general administrative resources. Your primary duties will include:
- Sourcing and purchasing high-quality medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, laboratory reagents, and office consumables.
- Researching potential vendors, comparing prices, and negotiating favorable purchase and contract terms.
- Managing inventory levels, tracking deliveries, and preventing stockouts of critical clinical supplies.
- Assessing the quality of incoming goods and managing returns, damages, or discrepancies with suppliers.
- Maintaining accurate, organized records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements.
- Collaborating closely with clinical departments and administrative heads to understand and fulfill their operational needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be a dedicated professional with a keen eye for detail and excellent negotiation skills. Requirements include:
- Relevant qualifications in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working in a procurement or inventory management role (prior experience within a healthcare, clinical, or pharmaceutical setting is highly advantageous).
