The Opportunity: Network Operations Engineer (NOCC)
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled Network Operations Engineer to join our dynamic Network Operations Control Center (NOCC) team. The NOCC is the frontline defense for our managed enterprise networks, responsible for high-stakes, real-time monitoring, incident response, and remote fault resolution. Key Responsibilities
As a Network Operations Engineer, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Active Monitoring & SLA Adherence: Proactively monitor Network Management Systems (NMS) dashboards and acknowledge critical alerts within strictly defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Incident Management: Accurately log, categorize, and manage incident tickets throughout their lifecycle to ensure minimal disruption to services.
- Remote Troubleshooting: Perform deep-dive remote diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures to achieve a high rate of first-call resolution.
- Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP): Execute Zero Touch Provisioning protocols to facilitate seamless and rapid deployments for new clients and locations.
- Configuration Management: Maintain regular configuration backups and actively prevent configuration drift across all network devices.
- Fibre Link Monitoring: Consistently monitor physical infrastructure and fibre links, quickly identifying and escalating physical faults when necessary.
- Field Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with Field Operations and Support (FOAS) teams to dispatch personnel and resolve complex physical network issues.
- Documentation & Handovers: Compile detailed shift handovers and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to preserve operational continuity.
What We Expect You to Bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess a robust combination of hands-on experience, analytical skills, and technical certifications:
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years of active experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC), network operations environment, or highly technical IT support role.
- Technical Knowledge: A deep, fundamental understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
- Monitoring Tool Proficiency: Direct, hands-on experience utilizing industry-standard network monitoring tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, LibreNMS, SolarWinds, or equivalent platforms.
- Diagnostic Capabilities: Strong Command Line Interface (CLI) troubleshooting skills using tools such as ping, traceroute, and advanced platform-specific diagnostics.
- Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Proven experience diagnostics and resolving complex LAN, WAN, and wireless network issues.
Mandatory Professional Certifications
Candidates must possess at least one of the following professional certifications to be considered for the role:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- CompTIA Network+
- MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA)
