The Role
As our Logistics Officer for Truck Operations, you will be the backbone of our supply chain and transport activities. You will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of our fleet, ensuring that every delivery is executed with precision, safety, and efficiency. This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a sharp eye for scheduling and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the movement of company trucks and other vehicles to meet operational demands.
- Plan and monitor daily dispatch and delivery schedules to ensure optimal turnaround times.
- Ensure the timely loading, transportation, and delivery of goods.
- Supervise and communicate effectively with our team of truck drivers.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and mileage to control costs.
- Schedule routine maintenance and ensure all vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, vehicle documents, repairs, and overall logistics activities.
- Ensure full compliance with all traffic regulations and company internal policies.
- Proactively resolve logistics challenges and provide timely, accurate updates to management.
Requirements
- Education: HND or B.Sc. in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in logistics, fleet, or transport management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- Expertise: Experience managing trucks and commercial vehicles is highly preferred. Knowledge of road networks and transport operations within Nigeria is an added advantage.
- Location: Must be a resident of Asaba, Delta State.
