About the Role: Legal Officer
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lagos, where you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive legal support across Planet Bottling Company Ltd's diverse operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Contract Management: Drafting, meticulously reviewing, and expertly negotiating a wide array of contracts and other legal documents pertinent to our manufacturing, logistics, and broader commercial activities.
- Legal Advisory: Providing insightful advice on critical business and contract law matters, ensuring our operations remain compliant and strategically sound.
- Regulatory Compliance: Actively supporting the company's adherence to all applicable regulations, helping to navigate the complex legal landscape.
- Risk Management: Contributing significantly to the management of legal risk across the entire organization, safeguarding our interests.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Preparing precise legal opinions and maintaining organized, accessible legal records.
- External Liaison: Collaborating effectively with external counsel when necessary, ensuring seamless legal representation.
- Internal Support: Offering clear, practical, and actionable legal guidance to various internal stakeholders.
- Policy Development: Contributing to the formulation and refinement of company policies and procedures, ensuring they align with legal requirements and strategic objectives.
Who We Are Looking For: Qualifications
We are searching for a candidate with a robust legal background and a proactive approach. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Legal Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of Law and Business Law, coupled with the ability to adeptly apply legal principles to complex commercial and operational scenarios.
- Contractual Proficiency: Exceptional skills in Contract Law and Legal Document Preparation, including the ability to draft, review, and negotiate agreements and related documentation with precision.
- Consulting Acumen: Proven experience in Legal Consulting, demonstrated by a track record of providing clear, solutions-focused advice to internal stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities, characterized by meticulous attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to foster effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
- Educational Background: A law degree (LL.B or equivalent) and qualification to practice law in Nigeria are highly beneficial.
- Professional Experience: Prior experience in corporate or commercial law is a significant advantage.
- Industry Insight (Added Advantage): Experience within the manufacturing, FMCG, or beverage industry, alongside familiarity with regulatory compliance in Nigeria, will be considered a valuable asset.
