About the Role
As the HR Business Partner at DSR Numan, you will be key to ensuring continuous manpower availability, rapid operational response, and cost-effective workforce management. This role acts as a bridge between management and employees, supporting department supervisors in real-time decision making, enforcing compliance and performance standards, and optimizing factory-level workforce dynamics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
In this position, you will execute a range of strategic and operational human resource functions:
- Strategic HR Partnership: Act as a trusted HR advisor to department leaders. Translate production and business goals into actionable workforce plans, while supporting organizational changes and productivity initiatives.
- Workforce Planning & Recruitment: Anticipate, plan, and fulfill manpower needs across technical, production, maintenance, and operational departments, ensuring seamless onboarding.
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Manage grievances, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution. Ensure factory operations align with local labor laws, company policies, and collective union agreements.
- Performance Management: Facilitate annual performance review cycles, empower line managers with performance management training, and design development paths for high performers.
- Learning & Development: Identify technical and soft skill gaps and collaborate with the Training Manager to organize targeted development programs.
- HR Operations & Analytics: Track, analyze, and report on key HR metrics such as absenteeism, turnover, overtime, and safety standards to guide management decision-making.
- Engagement & Culture: Foster a safe, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture through strategic engagement initiatives, retention plans, and wellbeing support.
Required Educational Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional Certification: A relevant professional HR certification (CIPMN is highly preferred).
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, specifically within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Nigerian labor laws, industrial relations, factory operations, and experience collaborating with trade unions.
