About the Role
As a College Guidance Counselor, you will support the academic, emotional, social, and behavioral development of students in the College Section. This role is ideal for an empathetic professional passionate about student welfare and dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to help students navigate personal and academic challenges.
- Support students facing academic, emotional, social, and behavioral difficulties.
- Develop and implement comprehensive guidance and counseling programs that promote overall student well-being.
- Identify students requiring specialized support and coordinate appropriate external referrals when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership to foster holistic student development.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and prepare detailed progress reports as required.
- Provide academic and career guidance to assist students with future educational planning.
- Organize engaging workshops and awareness programs on mental health, study skills, personal development, and responsible decision-making.
- Ensure strict compliance with the school's safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to student welfare concerns and crisis situations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Guidance & Counselling, Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar counseling role, preferably within a secondary school or college environment.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of child and adolescent developmental psychology.
- Skills: Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Values: High level of professionalism, deep empathy, and absolute confidentiality.
- Safeguarding: Sound knowledge of modern safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Tech Savviness: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
