The Opportunity: Lead Legal Strategy and Execution
As our General Counsel / Head of Legal, you will take the helm of all legal, governance, and transactional structuring activities across CMFC's diverse operations. Your mandate will span critical areas including:
- Investment Banking: Providing expert legal counsel for intricate investment banking initiatives.
- Mining Finance: Structuring and advising on financing solutions tailored for the mining sector.
- Structured Transactions: Developing and executing complex structured finance deals.
- Commodity Trading: Ensuring legal compliance and risk management in commodity trading operations.
- Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs): Overseeing the legal aspects of SPV creation and management for various projects.
- Strategic Partnerships: Negotiating and formalizing strategic alliances that enhance CMFC's reach and impact.
Your leadership will be crucial in mitigating legal risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding the highest standards of corporate governance across all CMFC endeavors.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic legal professional with a proven track record in sophisticated financial and project-based environments. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years post-call experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of legal principles and practice.
- Specialized Background: A strong background in project finance, investment banking, energy, infrastructure, mining, or international transactions. This specialized expertise is critical to navigating the nuances of our core business.
- Mastery of Documentation: Exceptional capability in drafting complex commercial agreements and structured finance documentation, ensuring precision and legal soundness.
- Negotiation and Regulatory Prowess: Excellent negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively engage with regulatory bodies, fostering positive relationships and ensuring compliance.
- Regulatory Advantage: Experience as an SEC-registered individual is considered a significant advantage, reflecting familiarity with capital market regulations.
