Job Summary
The ELV / Smart Building Technologist will play a crucial role in installing, configuring, and maintaining state-of-the-art smart building and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems across a variety of residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. Working primarily on-site, the successful candidate will handle real-world projects and collaborate closely with our expert engineers to ensure every system is deployed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain essential ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, fire alarms, public address systems, and networking infrastructure.
- Carry out advanced smart-home and building-automation installations, such as lighting controls, smart switches, automated curtains, and IoT sensors.
- Install and terminate structured cabling (CAT6 and fibre where required) while maintaining neat, professional rack management.
- Configure and test all connected devices to ensure flawless functionality prior to official system handover.
- Accurately read architectural drawings and site plans, following project instructions with precision.
- Troubleshoot technical faults and promptly resolve any issues that arise during and after the installation phase.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers and fellow technicians on-site to meet strict project deadlines.
- Maintain organized tools, materials, and work areas across all active project sites.
- Support final system handovers and provide basic, polite guidance to clients when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold an HND, BA/BSc, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, ICT, or a related field.
- Possess 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrate hands-on, practical experience with ELV or smart building systems.
- Maintain a solid foundational understanding of networking, IP devices, and power systems.
- Proficient in using basic installation tools and testing equipment.
- Show a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the rapidly evolving smart automation and ELV sectors.
- Capable of working on-site and consistently meeting project deadlines.
- Display a positive attitude, absolute honesty, and strong teamwork capabilities.
- Prior experience working in hotels or large-scale residential projects will be considered a significant added advantage.
