What You Will Get To Do
- Investigate fraud attacks thoroughly, quantifying their impact, and presenting clear, actionable findings to drive prioritization and effective response strategies.
- Propose and refine sophisticated rule-based mitigations, collaborating closely with fraud operations and engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation.
- Build and meticulously maintain essential reporting and dashboards to monitor evolving fraud trends, assess rule performance, and track key operational metrics.
- Work hand-in-hand with fraud operations specialists, data scientists, engineers, and product managers, ensuring analytical insights are translated into tangible actions and impactful solutions.
- Proactively identify emerging fraudulent patterns and flag potential risks, acting swiftly to prevent escalation and protect our ecosystem.
To Succeed In This Role, You Should Have
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven professional experience as a Data Analyst focusing on Fraud, or a similar analytical role, with 4+ years of experience (accomplishments can compensate for a slightly shorter tenure).
- Demonstrably strong problem-solving skills, capable of dissecting complex issues and formulating effective solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL, confidently writing complex queries to investigate, segment, and analyze large datasets.
- Direct experience in fraud, risk management, or financial services, coupled with a deep understanding of how fraud attacks operate and the nuances of mitigation trade-offs.
- A proactive mindset – you are self-driven, spot anomalies, and instinctively dig deeper without needing to be prompted.
- Some exposure to Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation and analytical tasks.
- Proficiency with at least one leading Business Intelligence (BI) tool such as PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, Superset, Redash, or a similar alternative.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, enabling clear communication of findings to fraud operations, product managers, engineers, and senior leadership, and the ability to influence data-driven decisions across all levels.
- Comfort and adaptability when working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams where priorities can shift dynamically.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- An enjoyment of autonomy and a flat organizational structure, recognizing that individual contributions can have an outsized impact on millions of customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A continuous drive to learn and master new technologies and analytical techniques.
Experience With The Following Would Be A Plus
- Data governance principles and practices.
- Further proficiency in Python or any other scripting language.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
