Integrated Dairies Limited (IDL), a highly respected pioneer in the Nigerian dairy industry, is seeking a disciplined and experienced professional to join its leadership team as Chief Security Officer (CSO). Incorporated in April 2003, IDL has established itself as a premier producer and processor of fresh milk and premium dairy products, operating on an expansive 550-hectare facility located within the serene, highland climate of the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) in Vom, Plateau State.
This critical leadership role offers a unique opportunity for an accomplished security professional to safeguard a major manufacturing and agricultural operation. The successful candidate will be tasked with protecting IDL's state-of-the-art facilities, extensive agricultural assets, valued personnel, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for defining, driving, and executing the organization's security strategy. Core duties include:
- Policy Development: Formulating and implementing robust security policies, operational procedures, and comprehensive emergency response plans.
- Team Leadership: Supervising, mentoring, and coordinating all security personnel across the manufacturing plant, dairy farm, and administrative offices.
- Asset Protection: Designing proactive systems to secure company assets, equipment, facilities, personnel, and finished products against theft, vandalism, trespass, or other security breaches.
- Risk Assessment & Prevention: Conducting ongoing security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to deploy effective preventive measures.
- Incident Investigation: Leading detailed investigations into any security breaches or incidents, and preparing comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations for executive management.
- Technology & Surveillance: Overseeing access control systems, CCTV monitoring networks, and perimeter security infrastructure.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Building and maintaining critical collaborative relationships with local law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and external security stakeholders.
- HSE Compliance: Ensuring all security activities align strictly with company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate a strong blend of physical security expertise, strategic leadership, and administrative competence. The ideal candidate should possess:
- Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial security role, with a strong preference for individuals who have worked within industrial manufacturing, agro-allied, or large-scale agricultural operations.
- Preferred Background: Prior service in the Military, Police, Civil Defence, or similar national security services is highly advantageous.
- Key Skills: Proven skills in physical security management, incident response, investigation, and strategic planning.
- Communication: Exceptional report writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Character: Uncompromising integrity, strong disciplinary standards, and sound professional judgment.
- IT Literacy: Practical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
