The Role: Chief Security Officer (CSO)

As the Chief Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the organization's personnel, facilities, and physical assets. This senior role requires a proactive professional who can anticipate threats, mitigate risks, and lead emergency response initiatives with precision and calm resolve.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key tasks:

Policy Development & Enforcement: Formulate, implement, and enforce comprehensive security policies, procedures, and access control protocols to safeguard personnel and properties.
Team Supervision: Lead, coordinate, and supervise security personnel, ensuring efficient coverage and strict adherence to organizational safety standards.
Surveillance & Patrols: Actively monitor security systems, organize routine patrols, and conduct deep-dive investigations into security incidents or suspicious activities.
Risk Assessment: Identify operational vulnerabilities, perform security audits, and recommend actionable preventive measures.
External Liaison: Maintain professional relationships and coordinate with external law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory bodies when necessary.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed security reports, maintain accurate records of incidents, and propose continuous security improvements.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full alignment with corporate security protocols, national health and safety standards, and emergency response guidelines.

Job Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of active experience in security operations, with proven experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or an equivalent academic qualification.
Background: Prior experience in the military, police force, civil defense, or corporate security is highly advantageous.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern surveillance systems, emergency response procedures, and hazard mitigation techniques.
Key Skills: Outstanding leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Composure: Proven ability to think clearly and make critical decisions under pressure or during emergencies.
