About the Role
As the Event Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing room and catering revenue by driving increased bookings across both Leisure and Corporate business segments. You will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, seamlessly communicating booking details to various hotel service departments, and strategically upselling opportunities to boost property revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Create widespread awareness regarding the hotel's meeting and banqueting facilities.
- Implement rigorous brand standards across all sales processes.
- Shift market share away from competitors with a sharp focus on the group segment.
- Analyze the overall market—including competitor strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand—to sell effectively against them.
- Close top-tier business opportunities using advanced negotiating skills and creative selling abilities.
- Build and strengthen long-lasting relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Conduct day-to-day sales activities such as lead generation, account management, face-to-face meetings, contracting, rate negotiation, and site inspections.
- Participate in in-house marketing activities, familiarization trips, and promotional events.
- Produce accurate sales activity reports and ensure timely information transfer to operational departments.
- Resolve guest issues proactively and participate in guest satisfaction review sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of sales experience working with a reputed international hotel chain.
- Proven experience handling top-producing accounts alongside group and catering business opportunities.
- Exceptional selling, upselling, and closing skills with a deep understanding of sales processes.
- Strong customer development, relationship management, and telephone sales skills.
- Solid knowledge of Leisure and Group business dynamics, as well as contractual agreements and legal implications.
- Proficiency in standard software applications and hotel management systems.
