The Role: Professional Barista
As a Barista at Summerset Continental Hotel, you will be the face of our specialty coffee and beverage service. You will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and other beverages that complement our high-end dining experiences. Beyond brewing skills, you will play a key role in engaging with guests, understanding their preferences, and ensuring every cup served meets the highest standards of quality, flavor, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and signature drinks, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain a deep understanding of coffee origins, roast profiles, and brewing techniques.
- Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and proper operation of all espresso machines, grinders, and other bar equipment.
- Provide warm, professional, and prompt service to all guests, aligning with the hotel’s luxury standards.
- Collaborate closely with the culinary team to align beverage offerings with our diverse local and continental menus.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, dairy, syrups, and other bar supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Culinary Background: A solid background or understanding of both continental and local cuisine is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active experience working as a Barista or in a similar role in a reputed hotel, upscale café, or high-end restaurant.
- Nationality: Must be Nigerian.
- Professional Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
