About the Opportunity

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainability and Systems Advisor to join our team. With a legacy spanning over 140 years, our organization remains a world leader in research, teaching, and global health impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of health systems in Nigeria by leading strategic initiatives that ensure long-term program sustainability and the successful transition of services to state and local government authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of project sustainability and transition plans in collaboration with government stakeholders.
Facilitate the design of innovative health financing mechanisms to ensure domestic resource mobilization.
Build the capacity of state and local government health management structures, focusing on leadership, management, and integrated health responses.
Serve as the primary liaison for health systems strengthening, representing the project at the state level.
Provide technical assistance to drive health reforms and improve the delivery of primary healthcare services, including HIV and TB prevention, care, and treatment.
Assess the needs and institutional capacity of government partners to manage integrated health interventions independently.
Oversee research, data collection, and policy formulation efforts to ensure program quality and compliance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

Education: An Advanced Degree in Public Health, Sociology, or a related medical/social science discipline (Master’s level preferred).
Experience: At least 7 years of senior-level experience in health systems strengthening, including health planning, financing, and human resources for health.
USG Expertise: Demonstrated experience with US Government-funded programs and familiarity with associated reporting requirements.
Local Context: In-depth knowledge of Nigeria’s health systems and proven ability to collaborate effectively with state-level officials.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure in complex, fast-paced environments.
