The Opportunity: Role Context
As the Director for Sales Demand Generation & Distribution, you will play a pivotal role in managing and expanding a highly strategic portfolio of pharmaceutical principals. This position requires a professional who can seamlessly align commercial strategies with seamless execution, ensuring the business consistently delivers outstanding demand generation and distribution services. Working alongside key internal stakeholders in Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, and Customer Service, you will convert complex market plans into high-performing, measurable operations.
Key Performance Areas
- Account Strategy & Growth Planning: Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive sustainable revenue growth, secure principal retention, and expand the market share.
- Demand Generation Planning: Translate global principal objectives into actionable, highly targeted regional sales strategies aligned with local market dynamics.
- Sales Execution & Market Activation: Lead in-market commercial activation, promotional campaigns, and key customer engagement initiatives to maximize market penetration.
- Financial Performance Management: Maintain absolute oversight of revenue, profitability, budgets, working capital, and overall commercial pipeline metrics.
- Client Service & SLA Management: Ensure strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), maintaining top-tier customer satisfaction and resolving operational bottlenecks proactively.
- Cross-Functional Commercial Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance, to ensure market plans are commercially viable and smoothly executed.
- Talent Management & Leadership: Mentor, coach, and inspire a high-performing commercial sales team, establishing strong pipelines for leadership and driving an accountable, performance-oriented organizational culture.
Qualifications and Experience Required
To succeed in this high-impact executive role, you must possess the following qualifications and professional background:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a closely related field. An MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, or Commercial Management is highly preferred.
- Professional Training: Specialized training in Key Account Management, Sales Leadership, Customer Service Excellence, or Commercial Management is an added advantage.
- Experience: 12–15 years of deep experience in pharmaceutical sales and commercial operations specifically within Nigeria, with at least 6–8 years serving in middle or senior management roles.
- Leadership Track Record: Proven history of successfully directing large, high-performing sales teams and delivering remarkable commercial revenue growth.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of healthcare distribution operations, pharmaceutical demand generation, principal account management, and regulatory compliance frameworks in Nigeria.
