Key Responsibilities
As a Professor in Restorative Dentistry, the successful candidate will be expected to provide high-level academic and clinical leadership. Key duties include:
- Teaching & Mentorship: Developing and delivering comprehensive curriculum and clinical training in restorative dentistry for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Research & Innovation: Conducting groundbreaking research, publishing findings in reputable national and international journals, and attracting research grants to the university.
- Community & Clinical Service: Providing clinical expertise, contributing to the university teaching hospital’s community outreach initiatives, and rendering professional consulting services.
- Administrative Leadership: Participating in departmental administration, curriculum reviews, committee assignments, and mentoring junior faculty members.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following rigorous academic and professional criteria:
- Must possess a postgraduate Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or its recognized equivalent, OR a PhD in a relevant dental/medical field.
- A minimum of nine (9) years of teaching, research, and administrative experience within a recognized university system.
- An outstanding publication record with no fewer than fifteen (15) scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of strong academic leadership and the ability to supervise postgraduate research.
- Must possess a Google Scholar h-index of at least three (3) to demonstrate academic citation impact.
