Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Physiotherapy faculty, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Deliver high-quality lectures and practical training in physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation sciences.
- Conduct impactful research, publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the academic community.
- Supervise undergraduate clinical postings, laboratory sessions, and student research projects.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and university administrative tasks.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this academic position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- NUC Standards: Must possess academic and professional qualifications prescribed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant professional regulatory bodies.
- Postgraduate Qualifications: Must hold relevant postgraduate degrees (M.Sc./Ph.D.) in Physiotherapy or related disciplines.
- Professional Licensing: Must be duly registered and licensed by the appropriate professional regulatory body (such as the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria - MRTB).
- Experience: Verifiable evidence of teaching, research, or laboratory instruction experience at the university level.
- Note: While a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree is an added advantage for appointments within the Medicine and Surgery Programme, specialized postgraduate qualifications in Physiotherapy are central to this role.
