Key Responsibilities
- Accurately review, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in strict accordance with legal and professional standards.
- Counsel patients on the safe use of medications, covering critical aspects such as dosage, administration routes, potential side effects, drug interactions, and proper storage.
- Verify prescription accuracy meticulously and resolve any medication-related discrepancies with prescribers when necessary.
- Monitor patients proactively for adverse drug reactions and provide appropriate, timely pharmaceutical interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records while ensuring absolute confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure full compliance with all local pharmacy regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff where applicable to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Manage comprehensive medication inventory, including stock control, expiry monitoring, and timely procurement requests.
- Participate actively in medication therapy management and collaborative clinical decision-making.
- Contribute meaningfully to quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, highly professional, and fully compliant pharmacy environment.
- Stay consistently updated on the latest developments in pharmaceutical practice through continuous professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- A valid practicing license with the relevant Pharmacy Regulatory Authority (such as the PCN).
- A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience working in a hospital, community, or retail pharmacy setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong, comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient counseling skills.
- A high level of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail in all daily tasks.
- A demonstrated ability to remain composed, exercise sound clinical judgment, and make well-reasoned decisions in high-pressure or fast-paced environments.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in modern pharmacy management systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
- The proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
