About the Role

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MNCH Technical Advisor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting the implementation of an integrated health service project funded by the U.S. Department of State. The core objective of this initiative is to reduce maternal, infant, and child mortality—specifically related to malaria—by delivering essential health packages and scaling up integrated service delivery models.

As the MNCH Technical Advisor, you will be at the forefront of operationalizing integrated Primary Health Care (PHC) services for women and children in Nigeria, aligning with the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NSRII). You will provide critical technical leadership on high-impact services, including nutrition, routine immunization, TB screening, and PMTCT across the antenatal, birth, and postnatal care continuum.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert technical guidance on evidence-based MNCH, nutrition, and infectious disease screening services.
Collaborate with National and State stakeholders to translate lessons learned into improved implementation strategies.
Design and lead capacity-building initiatives, including provider training, clinical mentoring, and Training of Trainers (ToT) programs.
Work in partnership with the State Ministry of Health and SPHCDA to ensure sustainable program transitions.
Represent the program at high-level stakeholder meetings and technical working groups.
Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to ensure program targets are met in accordance with donor standards.

Required Qualifications

Medical Doctor, experienced Nurse or Midwife, or related healthcare professional. A PhD, MPH, or MSc in a relevant field is a significant advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH).
Proven management experience within public health programs.
Demonstrated experience working on international donor-funded projects.
Familiarity with FMOH and SMOH structures and government policy-making processes.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of working effectively with host-country government officials.
