The Role
As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in patient care by performing precise microbiological investigations. Your work will directly support our clinicians in identifying infectious agents and determining the most effective treatment pathways for our patients. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive microbiological analyses, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology.
- Process clinical specimens with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and biosafety standards.
- Perform culture, sensitivity testing, and accurate organism identification.
- Manage quality control and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in hospital-wide infection prevention and control initiatives.
Professional Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS).
- Certification: Must be registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) with a valid practicing license.
- Experience: 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in a microbiology laboratory is preferred.
- Attributes: A keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment.
