Job Purpose

As a Medical Doctor based in Dikwa, you will play a critical role in providing essential outpatient and inpatient medical care to patients and beneficiaries. Following updated medical protocols, INTERSOS strategies, and international hygiene standards, your expertise will directly improve health outcomes and save lives in a key humanitarian context.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Diagnosis: Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose, prevent, and treat illnesses. Conduct thorough inpatient and outpatient consultations, prescribing treatments in strict accordance with established protocols.
Patient Communication: Ensure patients and their families are fully informed about their diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive measures, verifying their comprehension of the instructions.
Medical Supply Management: Oversee the rational distribution of medicines and medical equipment, ensuring the quality, disinfection, and sterilization of all medical tools.
Hygiene & Quality Control: Maintain and enforce rigorous hygiene standards across the facility. Conduct weekly and monthly consumption analyses to manage medical stock and orders efficiently.
Epidemiological Surveillance: Participate in collecting, analyzing, and transmitting epidemiological data. Promptly report any medical complications, anomalies, or errors to the line manager.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the leader of the multidisciplinary medical team under your supervision. Schedule shifts, supervise performance, maintain professional confidentiality, and organize continuous training to enhance care quality.
Inter-departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the program, logistics, and human resources departments to streamline operations and support project objectives.

Position Requirements

Education: Medical Doctor (MD) diploma.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of clinical work experience. Prior experience in pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, general medicine, or minor surgery is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Essential computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet applications.
Key Competencies: Strong teamwork, cooperation, behavioral flexibility, and deep commitment to humanitarian principles.
Languages: Proficiency in the mission language is essential; knowledge of the local working language is highly desirable.
