About the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
Established in February 1988 by the Federal Government through Decree No. 45 of 1988 (as amended by Decree 35 of 1992 and formally enacted as the Federal Road Safety Commission Establishment Act 2007), the FRSC is the leading government agency responsible for road safety management in Nigeria.
The primary responsibilities of the Commission include:
- Making the highways safe for motorists and other road users.
- Recommending infrastructure, works, and devices designed to eliminate or minimize accidents on the highways.
- Advising Federal, State, and Federal Capital Territory Administrations on critical safety areas.
- Educating motorists and the general public on the importance of discipline and safety on the highways.
Role Profile: Marshal Inspector III (MI Cadre)
The Marshal Inspectorate Cadre plays a vital role in executing the operational and safety mandates of the FRSC. Officers within the MI Cadre are frequently involved in patrolling, accident prevention, public education, and providing first-responder medical care during emergencies. Given the specialized qualifications required, successful candidates will be instrumental in enhancing the emergency healthcare capabilities of the corps on major national routes.
Qualifications & Academic Requirements
Applicants interested in joining the Marshal Inspector III cadre must possess qualifications from recognized institutions in any of the following disciplines:
- National Diploma (ND)
- Senior Community Health Extension Workers Certificate (CHEW)
- Medical Laboratory Technicians Certificate
- Pharmacy Technicians Certificate
- Dental Technicians Certificate
