The Role

As the Laboratory Manager, you will serve as the heartbeat of our laboratory department. You will be responsible for setting the standard for quality assurance, managing a talented team of scientists and technicians, and ensuring that our patients receive accurate results with the quickest possible turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert leadership and day-to-day management of laboratory staff.
Oversee rigorous quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) systems to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
Manage equipment maintenance schedules, inventory, and laboratory budgets.
Uphold the highest standards of safety, infection control, and biohazard compliance.
Liaise with the medical team and management to drive service improvement and report on key performance metrics.
Mentor and develop staff through training and professional appraisals.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is not just a skilled scientist, but a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. To be considered, you must possess:

A Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree.
A valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
At least 5 years of post-NYSC experience in a medical laboratory setting.
A minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
In-depth familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ISO standards.
Note: You must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Awka.

Possessing a postgraduate qualification in Laboratory Management or Quality Assurance is considered a strong advantage. Your integrity, analytical mindset, and ability to lead under pressure are the qualities we value most.
