The Role and Opportunity
As a Senior Lecturer in Soil and Land Resources Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of agricultural and environmental scientists. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, designing innovative curriculum models, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students. Beyond the classroom, you will lead impactful research initiatives aimed at addressing critical issues in soil health, sustainable land management, food security, and environmental conservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and field-based instructions in Soil and Land Resources Management.
- Supervise student research projects, seminars, and theses at various academic levels.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly papers in reputable, peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Contribute actively to curriculum review and development in alignment with the National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, supporting their professional and personal development.
- Participate in administrative duties, departmental meetings, university committees, and community outreach programs.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this prestigious academic position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must possess academic and professional qualifications prescribed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant professional regulatory bodies.
- A Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Soil Science, Land Resources Management, Agronomy, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Duly registered and licensed by the appropriate professional regulatory bodies (where applicable).
- Demonstrated evidence of outstanding teaching experience, academic leadership, and laboratory management in a university setting.
