Iconic Open University, a fully licensed private open and distance learning university by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja, Nigeria, is seeking experienced and qualified academics to join our network. We are currently inviting suitably qualified scholars to serve as Project Co-Supervisors (Arabic) for our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key Responsibilities and Role Overview

Selected candidates will be engaged on a contractual basis to provide expert supervision, mentorship, and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate student projects within the Arabic discipline. Roles and duties are structured to maintain academic rigor and adhere to institutional guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this prestigious role, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Academic Rank: Candidates must hold a minimum rank of Senior Lecturer. Readers and Professors are preferred, particularly for postgraduate research supervision.
• Qualification: Must possess a Ph.D. in Arabic or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Demonstrated track record of postgraduate research supervision and a strong portfolio of publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
• Conflict of Interest: Applicants must not have any current or recent employment with Iconic Open University (within the last three years), close personal/professional relationships with current staff or students, or reciprocal arrangements with cognate programmes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong publication record in reputable journals over the past three years.
• Prior experience working within an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) environment.
• Evidence of strong research leadership.

The selection process involves four key stages:

2. Review and Interaction: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a virtual due-diligence interaction.
3. Senate Approval: Evaluation outcomes will be submitted to the University Senate for final consideration.
4. Official Appointment: Successful candidates will receive an official letter of appointment detailing their contract terms and reference.
