Role Overview
As a Mathematics Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in the intellectual development of your students. You will be responsible for preparing students for key internal and external examinations by delivering high-quality lessons aligned with both the Nigerian and Cambridge curricula. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive Mathematics lessons that align with the standards of both the Nigerian and Cambridge education systems.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Design rigorous assessment tools, grade student coursework, evaluate academic performance, and provide constructive feedback and targeted support to students who need extra assistance.
- Exam Preparation: Actively prepare students for success in local exams as well as prestigious international Cambridge examinations.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a structured, positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Record Keeping and Communication: Maintain detailed and accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic progress, and regularly communicate these insights to parents and school administration.
- Professional Development: Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and other school-wide academic and extracurricular activities.
Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualifications: Must possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) paired with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). An M.Ed. or M.Sc. is highly desirable.
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of active teaching experience, with demonstrated experience delivering both the Nigerian and Cambridge Mathematics curricula.
- Skills: Excellent classroom management capabilities, outstanding communication skills, and a strong command of modern pedagogical techniques.
- Technological Proficiency: Competence in utilizing educational technology, smart boards, and modern online teaching tools to enrich the learning experience.
- Certifications: TRCN (Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria) certification and Cambridge teaching certifications are highly advantageous. Note: Candidates with strong Cambridge curriculum experience and relevant certifications will be eligible for a higher remuneration package.
Compensation and Benefits
Our client offers a competitive salary starting from ₦120,000 net/month. This salary is negotiable and can be scaled upwards depending on your level of experience, certifications (especially Cambridge), and academic qualifications.
