Role Overview
As a Mathematics Teacher at AJC, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality mathematics instruction. Your goal will be to ensure that every student not only grasps the core curriculum in accordance with the Nigerian National Policy for Primary Education but also learns to apply mathematical concepts to their everyday life. Beyond academics, you will serve as a mentor and role model, embodying the values and ethos of the Jesuit tradition.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively and efficiently cover all items in the school's mathematics scheme of work.
- Design engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Act as a positive role model for students, promoting integrity and academic curiosity.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: A B.Sc. in Mathematics, Statistics, B.Eng, or an equivalent qualification is required. A higher degree in Mathematics will be considered a significant advantage.
- Professional Certification: Must hold TRCN, PGDE, or other relevant educational qualifications.
- Experience: At least 2 years of proven teaching experience in a similar role. Any additional experience related to mathematics instruction is highly valued.
- Skills: Excellent command of the English language, strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative team player mindset, and proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Personal Attributes: Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of adolescent psychology, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to excel with minimal supervision.
