The Opportunity: Mathematics / Physics Teacher
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mathematics / Physics Teacher to contribute to our vibrant academic community. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering both the challenging Cambridge IGCSE and the rigorous Nigerian WAEC curricula at the secondary level. This role demands a commitment to creating an engaging, student-centred learning environment where every girl is empowered to excel in these crucial subjects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mathematics / Physics Teacher at Noble Hall, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Mathematics and Physics lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and WAEC curricula.
- Preparing students effectively for Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE, and WAEC examinations, ensuring excellent outcomes.
- Differentiating instruction to cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities of all students.
- Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress using a variety of effective assessment methods.
- Integrating technology and practical activities into teaching to enhance learning experiences and engagement.
- Fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific inquiry among students.
- Maintaining effective classroom management and upholding high standards of student behaviour and discipline.
- Actively participating in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, and school improvement initiatives.
- Serving as a form tutor or mentor when required, providing guidance and support to students.
- Communicating regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
- Contributing actively to co-curricular programmes, clubs, competitions, and school events that enrich student life.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Vice Principal Academics to support the school's mission.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Education, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (PGDE, TRCN registration, or equivalent) is a significant advantage.
- A minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience in a reputable secondary school.
- Demonstrable experience teaching both the Cambridge IGCSE and WAEC Mathematics and/or Physics curricula.
- A proven track record of preparing students for excellent examination outcomes.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology to support and enhance teaching and learning.
Desirable:
- Experience with Cambridge Lower Secondary and A Level programmes.
- Cambridge professional development certification.
- Experience coaching STEM clubs, robotics, coding, mathematics competitions, or science enrichment programmes.
