The Role: Geography Educator
As the Geography Educator at Domfas ILA, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that foster environmental stewardship, analytical thinking, and global awareness. You will inspire students to explore physical, human, regional, and environmental geography while helping them master critical skills such as map reading, data interpretation, and field research.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Prepare and deliver high-impact geography lessons in alignment with the school’s blended curriculum.
- Lesson Planning: Develop comprehensive lesson plans, schemes of work, and diverse assessment materials.
- Core Instruction: Teach vital concepts in physical, human, regional, and environmental geography.
- Practical Learning: Guide students in practical fieldwork, map interpretation, and geographical data analysis.
- Student Assessment: Monitor, record, and assess students’ academic progress through constructive feedback, assignments, and exams.
- Classroom Environment: Cultivate a stimulating, inclusive, and highly disciplined classroom environment.
- Extracurricular Engagement: Organize enriching geography clubs, student projects, and educational excursions.
- Technology Integration: Seamlessly integrate modern educational technology (ICT) and interactive learning tools into the classroom.
- Professional Collaboration: Attend faculty meetings, participate in professional development programs, and contribute to academy-wide events.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess a deep love for teaching and meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Education, or a closely related field.
- Professional Certification: A valid teaching qualification and registration with an appropriate professional educational body is highly advantageous.
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of active teaching experience in a reputable school setting.
- Skills: Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills.
- Tech Savviness: Proficiency in ICT and standard educational software tools.
