Role Overview
As a Food and Nutrition teacher at AJC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the dietary knowledge and life skills of our secondary school students. You will be responsible for translating complex nutritional concepts into engaging, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for both academic success and personal well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive, age-appropriate lesson plans covering a diverse array of nutritional topics.
- Integrate theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on laboratory or kitchen sessions.
- Monitor student progress through rigorous assessment, providing constructive feedback to enhance critical thinking.
- Maintain organized records of student performance and attendance.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow faculty members to ensure an integrated and cohesive curriculum.
- Participate actively in the enrichment of the wider school community and extracurricular initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition or a closely related discipline, along with a valid teaching certification.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience at the secondary school level.
- Pedagogy: Demonstrated ability to design effective assessments and innovative instructional materials.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
