About the Role
As our Fashion and Garment Design Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our students through the 2026 WAEC Garment Making syllabus. You won't just be teaching theory; you will be fostering a hands-on environment where creativity meets technical precision. Your goal is to ensure excellence in both the WASSCE examinations and the development of practical, entrepreneurial skills that our students will carry into their futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Execute engaging lessons on the 2026 WAEC Garment Making syllabus, covering fabric properties, design elements, and figure types.
- Technical Mastery: Lead practical workshops in pattern drafting, sewing techniques, and the construction of professional-grade garments.
- Exam Success: Strategically prepare students for Paper 1 (Objectives), Paper 2 (Essay), and the vital Paper 3 (Test of Practical Work).
- Workshop Management: Maintain our fashion lab to ensure a safe, efficient, and inspiring workspace for all learners.
- Entrepreneurship Mentorship: Beyond the needle and thread, teach the fundamentals of the fashion business, including costing, market research, and brand management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.Sc., B.Ed., or HND in Fashion Design, Clothing and Textiles, Home Economics, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 2–3 years of teaching experience with a proven track record of WAEC/NECO success.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in both Freehand Cutting and professional Pattern Drafting.
- Machine Proficiency: Skilled in operating both industrial and domestic sewing equipment.
- Certification: TRCN certification is considered a significant advantage.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, patience, and the ability to inspire young minds to explore their creative potential.
