Iconic Open University, a fully-pledged private open and distance learning university licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja, Nigeria, is currently seeking qualified academics to serve as External Examiners for our undergraduate and postgraduate Islamic Studies programmes.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Academic Rank: Must not be below the rank of Senior Lecturer. Readers and Professors are strongly preferred, particularly for postgraduate research supervision.
- Qualification: Must possess a minimum of a Ph.D. Degree in Islamic Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Demonstrated expertise in the specialization with prior experience as an external examiner at recognized tertiary institutions. A strong track record of postgraduate supervision and peer-reviewed research publications is essential.
- Independence: Candidates must be entirely independent of Iconic Open University with no conflicts of interest (e.g., recent employment, close personal/professional relationships, or reciprocal arrangements with the University).
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants who stand out will ideally possess:
- A robust publication record in reputable journals over the last three years.
- Familiarity with Open and Distance Learning (ODL) frameworks, e-assessment, and virtual examination platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic research and postgraduate mentorship.
Tenure and Engagement
External Examiners are engaged on a flexible contractual basis, performing specific duties and evaluations aligned with the University's academic calendar and quality assurance milestones.
