Key Responsibilities
As the Economics & Business Studies Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students' academic journeys and preparing them for future success. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Curriculum Mastery: Demonstrate strong, in-depth knowledge of both the IGCSE and WAEC curriculum content in the Economics and Business Studies subject areas.
- Inspirational Teaching: Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the respective curriculums, utilizing a variety of effective, student-centered instructional strategies to promote active learning.
- Lesson Planning: Plan, design, and prepare creative learning materials and lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assign regular classwork, homework, and assessments to evaluate understanding, monitor student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Exam Preparation: Thoroughly prepare students for internal assessments as well as external IGCSE and WAEC examinations.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment that fosters respect and collaboration.
- Policy Implementation: Implement academic policies and the subject curriculum to ensure students receive the highest standards of education.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a strong academic foundation, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire students. The key requirements are:
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) in Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related subject area.
- Professional Certification: A recognized teaching qualification (such as PGCE, PGDE, TRCN, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching both the IGCSE and WAEC curricula, with a history of outstanding student results.
- Core Skills: Exceptional classroom management skills, strong communication, interpersonal abilities, and a collaborative spirit.
