Job Overview: CRS Teacher
We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Christian Religious Studies (CRS) Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be someone who is not only committed to academic excellence but is also deeply passionate about fostering moral, ethical, and faith-based development in young learners. As a CRS Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students to explore spiritual concepts, build strong moral characters, and prepare effectively for both national and international examinations.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following core duties:
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Plan comprehensive lessons in the weekly plan book, detailing lesson objectives, innovative teaching methods, appropriate homework, and strategies for differentiated learning to support students of varying abilities.
- Adaptive Instruction: Tailor teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs, learning styles, and interests of the students.
- Student Assessment & Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential records of students' assessment results, progress feedback, and academic performance.
- Goal Setting: Set clear, achievable academic and personal development objectives for all lessons and projects, communicating these expectations clearly to students.
- Classroom Management: Establish and enforce positive behavioral standards and procedures to maintain an orderly, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
- Student Motivation: Provide constructive, timely feedback using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build self-confidence in all students.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a related field with a PGDE.
- Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of teaching experience in CRS, with a proven track record of successfully preparing students for WAEC and IGCSE examinations.
- Certification: A valid teaching certification or evidence of a PGDE currently in progress.
- Communication Skills: Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Pedagogical Skills: Strong classroom management skills, knowledge of modern teaching methodologies, and high digital literacy with the ability to integrate technological tools into classroom instruction.
- Values & Character: Ability to support moral, ethical, and faith-based development, facilitate community service and values-based projects, and lead respectful, engaging classroom discussions on faith and ethics.
